Voting By Mail: What You Need To Know

Under certain circumstances, the state of Texas allows voters to submit an absentee ballot instead of voting at a physical polling site. While the process of voting by mail can be a bit confusing, here's the good news - we can help! To be eligible to vote early by mail in Texas, you must (per the Texas Secretary of State website):

  • be 65 years or older;
  • be disabled;
  • be out of the county on Election Day and during the period for early voting by personal appearance; or
  • be confined in jail, but otherwise eligible.

In order to vote by mail in the May 6th election, you must submit a mail-in ballot application. The application must be received by the Bexar County Clerk no later than Tuesday, April 25th.

There are a couple of different ways you can submit your application:

  • Need us to deliver an application to your home? Email us at [email protected] or call us at (210) 307-6018 and we'll bring you an application!
