Under certain circumstances, the state of Texas allows voters to submit an absentee ballot instead of voting at a physical polling site. While the process of voting by mail can be a bit confusing, here's the good news - we can help! Read on for important information and key dates to mark on your calendar to make sure your vote is counted on Election Day.

To be eligible to vote early by mail in Texas, you must (per the Texas Secretary of State website):

• be 65 years or older;
• be disabled;
• be out of the county on Election Day and during the period for early voting by personal appearance; or
• be confined in jail, but otherwise eligible. 

In order to vote by mail in the May 6th election, you must submit a mail-in ballot application. The application must be received by the Bexar County Clerk no later than Tuesday, April 25th.
